Become A Volunteer

Brighton
Volunteer Ambulance performs many services within the community. Some do not
require medical training. Being onboard an ambulance as a driver or medical
provider does require specific training to meet New York State laws.
Volunteer
medical staff are always needed to fill openings in shifts for any one of our
three emergency ambulances. No medical training is needed to join at Brighton
Volunteer Ambulance. We will pay for all the necessary training for those individuals
who plan to help fill shifts with our agency. Our only request is that every
member commit to providing 12 hours per month toward their duties.
Our
organization has openings for base attendants. This position includes direct
interaction with the community, but not in a medical capacity. There are a limited
number of Support members, who act as a point of information for the community
and crews that are on the road. Duties include maintaining historical information,
giving public demonstrations, teaching CPR and First Aid classes, performing
car-seat inspections, assisting with Loan Closet items, greeting the public,
and answering telephones to name just a few.
For
more information about becoming a member please pick up an application at our
base. We are located at 1551 South Winton Road at Westfall Road. You can also
have an application sent to you by calling our offices at (585) 271-2718 ext.
218 or by e-mailing membership@brightonambulance.org
with your contact information.
