The History of BVA:

BVA was founded in 1983 with the purpose of providing emergency
medical services to the residents of the Town of Brighton.  Our first
vehicle was put into service in 1986.   Throughout its history, B
VA has
grown to extend its services to provide for the changing needs of its
community.

BVA
works with the 911 and healthcare systems in our communities by
providing and receiving mutual aid services to and from other volunteer
and commercial EMS agencies.

During the tragedy of 9-11, we reached out to New York City by sending
medical supplies, crew members, and an ambulance.
A commendation
from the City of New York is displayed at our Base.
Soon after 9-11, we
received word that a former
EMT volunteer, Zhe "Zack" Zeng" had died
providing first aid care to victims
at the street level entrance to the South
Tower
.   His name can be found on the 9-11 Memorial.
