Volunteer!
We are seeking volunteers to help us deliver quality professional emergency
medical services for residents and visitors to the Town of Brighton. BVA
offers three types of volunteer positions: Active, Support and Associate.
Active Members are involved directly in EMS and include:
We also offer non medical positions for those that are interested including
Base Attendant.
Support Member and Associate Member positions are available as well for
those interested in volunteering at BVA in a role other than "road duties."
Support Roles include volunteer coordinator, newsletter editor/PR assistant,
webmaster and more. Associate Member positions offer an opportunity for
those interested in supporting BVA with limited time commitments. Associate
Members often support BVA Training, IT and PR departments.
Volunteers come from different backgrounds including those with and without
healthcare experience such as engineers, IT administrators, business owners,
manufacturing staff and service industry.
BVA provides high quality training and continuing education credits for our
members. All Active Duty members must complete the appropriate
certifications and examinations. EMS positions are supported by Field
Training Officers (FTO) during your field training period. FTOs are "coaches"
to provide direction and answer questions while you are on duty. BVA covers
the cost of initial training as well as provides uniform vouchers for those
members that complete the necessary training requirements and become
Active members. Approved members are eligible for tuition coverage or
reimbursement for a variety of continuing medical education, including the

others, New York State volunteer tax credit and
supporting a valuable public service to the Town of
Brighton.
